A Message From
Wayne & Theresa:
Welcome to our adoption site!
We’re Wayne and Theresa, and we can’t wait to share a bit of our story with you.
We are so grateful that you’re taking a moment to get to know us. We know this is a big decision.
If we’re lucky enough to welcome a baby into our family, they’ll grow up surrounded by endless love, laughter, and joy.
Our Story
We love sharing our story because our connection felt fated from the start. In 2015, we were living across the country from each other—Theresa in Los Angeles and Wayne in Brooklyn. Despite the distance and the possibility of a long-distance relationship, we decided to plan a date. You would think choosing a location would be the hardest part, and yet it wasn’t. In reality, it was surprisingly easy, as if the stars had aligned just for us. In the process of planning, we realized that we both grew up on Long Island, and it just so happened that we would both be on the east end of the Island the same weekend visiting our parents. We had grown up just ten minutes apart our entire lives, but it took living across the country for our story to finally begin. Two years of love and laughter later, we were married. A year after that, we moved back to Long Island and began putting down roots.
Over the next few years, we focused on nurturing those roots, building a home filled with love and intention. In 2021, our family grew when we welcomed the love of our lives: Mae, the sweetest Old English Sheepdog–Poodle mix. She brings endless joy, comfort, and laughter into our days. We can already see what a gentle, loving big sister she will be to the next member of our family.
Both of us (and Mae) are deeply passionate about life, tradition, and creating meaningful memories. We share a love for food—cooking it, gathering around the table to enjoy it, and traveling to experience it. Many evenings we can be found in the kitchen recreating recipes inspired by places we’ve explored together. In addition to cooking, we enjoy being active, especially hiking, always discovering new nature trails. As corny as it may sound, our favorite activity is simply being together. No matter where we are or what we’re doing, what matters most is that we are laughing, connected, and building a life rich with shared moments.
We complement one another in the most natural way, and our home reflects both of our creativity and care. Theresa brings a sense of magic into our lives through her work as a creative director and choreographer. Her imagination and passion shape our home into a space that feels both beautiful and peaceful. Wayne brings a steady, grounding energy as an educational administrator and natural leader. His passion for supporting and uplifting others fills our home with encouragement, optimism, and unwavering love. Together, we create a space where warmth, support, and joy are always felt.
Our family is rooted in values we hold close: love, acceptance, family, and friendship. We are incredibly fortunate to be surrounded by a large, close-knit extended family of grandparents, aunts, uncles, and cousins on both sides, all less than 30 minutes away. Their excitement and eagerness to welcome a little one into their lives is overwhelming in the best possible way.
We know that our next family member is out there, and we feel ready in every sense to welcome them home. Our arms and hearts are open. We look forward to all the laughter, adventures, and quiet moments we will share together, and we can’t wait to watch our family grow with love, joy, and new memories.
